woah.....and they're on with Al Gore.

boring meets boring

sorry folks but PJ has just lost it.

I still like em and all but they're approaching lame at times.

IMO "Yield" was their last good album.

According to www.theskyiscrape.com, they're taping both songs tonight.

The site says that "according to a recent Letterman newsletter, the first night will be
Spoiler:
I Am Mine
and the second night

was still unknown

The last time they released an album, they were on Letterman & they played Grievance. Considering that they had just released "Nothing As It Seems" as a single, it was not the expected choice at all. So it just goes to show that... yaneverknow.

yeah, i know they played grievance... but considering they've got 2 songs this time around, i definitely assumed

also, let me state my prediction that 'Can't Keep' will be this album's 'show opener' (a la 'Release', 'Sometimes', 'Of The Girl')... just has that sort of build up that pj seems to really like to open shows with..

While I'm not the biggest PJ fan in the world, I do enjoy listening to some of their songs. I'm not sure what song they played last night, but it just didn't "do it" for me. Hopefully tonights performance will be better.

They played I Am Mine. Not sure if Bust objected to the song or the performance. IIRC Pearl Jam has never lit themselves on fire or stagedived during a Letterman appearance.

So it wasn't a "crap performance" per se, you just didn't like the song.

I thought it was a good performance of "I am mine."

He seemed to be having a bit of trouble getting those high "screams" out. I really hope it's just a passing thing (though he has been going lower for some older songs, Garden in particular).

great quotes from dave on night 2 after 'Save You':

'ok, NOW we're getting somewhere.'
'did you sleep well last night?'

Now...where to find those Australian boots? I did a reinstall, and can't remember the name of the DC++ source, and it's no longer listed (at least that I can find) on http://www.theskyiscrape.com

i ordered the whole batch and have been listening to the 'unmastered mp3's' from pearl jam... sucks, as they're encoded at 64k, but it'll hold me over...

they're definitely a little rusty, but it's to be expected.. crazy mary with stairway teases from the first night was fantastic. i'm not a huge CM fan, but i *really* dug this version...

i'm sure they'll be popping up soon enough. i elected to have the whole batch shipped at once, so i won't see the actual cd's till the end of the tour... but keep an eye on TSIS and furthurnet, i'm sure they'll be making the rounds soon.

the bitTorrent system, which they're using at TSIS is pretty cool too.. downloaded the december seattle show and the berlin 96 show from there. maybe the official boots will be up there soon..

(btw mods, this is completely legal. thanks.)
