Need New Receiver...Please Help!!!

I am in the market for a new receiver, and I don't know where to buy. Should I buy from a local retailer, or buy online.

I have been told that if I buy online, the manufaturer warranty is void because they sell for less.

I am pretty sure that I want a Yamaha RX-V1300 receiver. It seem to have everything I need.

I need:

6.1 decoding
At least 2 digital coax imputs
The rest speaks for itself.

Please give advice!

Manufacturer's warranties are only void if you buy from an unauthorized reseller. There are many authorized sellers online which you can still buy from.

Check out the Yamaha site for a list of authorized resellers. The big stores (Buy.com, Amazon, etc. should all be ok)

Also, remember that when you buy with a credit card you may be able to receive an additional warranty from them.

I checked Amazon.com and they re-direct you to savinglots.com.

They have the unit for $599.99.

Know anything about them?

Also, If you have another brand or model to recommend, I would be open to imput.
