I have an SD1700 and i had it plugged in, it was on, and I turned off the main power to the house...I didn't know it was on, so then when i tried to turned it on, it wouldn't power up...i think the power supply got messed over...

does anyone have any suggestions?

If your DVD player does not turn on now, the first thing is to check if there is a fuse inside of the dvd player. Check the fuse to see if it's blown. If the fuse has a clear glass casing, you can see if the filament is broken. If you can't see the filament, use a multimeter & check for continuity across the fuse. No continuity=blown fuse. This would be the simplest thing to check.

I second checking the fuse. I have had some good luck with purchasing dead dvd players off of ebay and just replacing the fuse.

If it truly is broken, it's probably cheaper to buy a new one than to fix it.

i guess something else is shoted out inside your dvd. You can try radio shack for the transistor but if that doesn't work, just gt a new dvd player for $100 or so.
