STILL waiting on my pre-order from Playcentric.com. I do believe that I'm a boner for ordering from them despite all the bad comments. Most likely will be my first and last order from them.

Mine just came today. I'm about to watch the episodes, but so far I can tell you that it does appear to have commentary for just "Try to Remember" plus biographies for the cast. Some pretty cool animated menus too.
A complete surprise that it came today, I'll report on video/audio quality tonight.

Video and audio were better than I expected. To clarify, I feared that since this would be a small studio release, that it might end up looking like crap (essentially the way my Wonder Years DVD looks and sounds, and Eerie Indiana looks). But nonetheless, the picture is very sharp, and certainly more detailed than the Odyssey reruns. If a major studio released this, it could undoubtedly look better, as there seems to be some compression issues, but nothing major.
The three 1-hour episodes are presented in their entirety, they run about 48-49 minutes each. There is a little glitch during the end credits of the Tonight, Tonight special. It's certainly noticeable and it seems to be the way the disc was encoded. Just a moment of poor quality.
The cast biographies were an interesting read, and I only listened to a minute of the commentary but it sounds interesting. I'm pleased with the DVD release, although I certainly hope that they release more episodes (particularly the Pilot and the 1-hour Thanksgiving episode). Season sets would be ideal, but the fact that the show is on DVD at all is a pleasant surprise. Seems like Patchett and Fusco are the two people most responsible for the DVD release (reading the bios would suggest so), so maybe we can e-mail one of them and express interest for more ALF on DVD.
Nonetheless, after over two weeks of delay, I'm very glad to have this DVD and it certainly meets my expectations for a small studio release.

I received my copy yesterday and was also pleasantly surprised by just how good it looks. From a small studio, kudos for a job well done. Now if they would release entire seasons...

Set is okay, extras are limited, video quality is decent for TV episodes...
Episodes are questionable... Doubt we will see more ALF based on the initial choices... Too Bad! Give me ALF by SEASON!!!

Warner might own the rights, but it seems like Patchett and Fusco are the driving forces behind this DVD release. The Alien Studios or whatever it's called...that's them, the producers. They could probably pull off seasons sets on DVD, if they wanted. I'd certainly buy them. Not getting this set because it's not a Full Season set seems pretty silly to me. It was $13.21 shipped for me, well worth it. Maybe sales will even be surprisingly high enough for them to release more, and ideally season sets. Heck, ALF isn't in syndication here, anymore, so there was no way I wasn't buying this DVD.
