Classic Monster Collection Box (8DVD) for 49.90€

For those who are interested, "Classic Monster Collection Box (8 DVD)" boxset is available for 49.90€ at http://www.filmifriikki.fi
It's naturally R2/PAL, 1:33.1, DD mono in English and contains these classic films,

Bride of Frankenstein
Creature from the Black Lagoon
Dracula
Frankenstein
Invisible Man
Mummy
Phatontom of the Opera
Wolf Man

They are all available seperately as well, but for 11.50€/each.

Amazon.de seems to have it as well (Early 2003) for 99€. Quite a difference in pricing?

Just ordered my copy of the boxset

Just wanted to point out that the "Dracula" disc in the set does NOT have the Spanish cut, which is allegedly superior to Browning's U.S. version. All of the commentary tracks are there, though.

Is this some sort of rare bongo-frenzy version with Chaney going ape on the skins instead of the church organ?

Having watched both many times I have to agree that the Spanish version edges out the U.S.Version in every category. The level of intensity and the sense of dread and eerieness is far more palatable in the Spanish than the U.S.. Not too mention the actors seemed more "alive" if you will in their interpretation of the storyline as opposed to the American cast. That's not to say that it does'nt have it's faults. The character of Renfield is so over the top in the Spanish version that he's often more comedic than he is menacing. And no matter how I try, "Soy Dracula" just does'nt cut it like Lugosi's "I am...Dracula".

If the Spanish version is available in R2 pick it up as well. If not get the R1 version and compare the two. My money however is on the Spanish as opposed to the American. While no one will ever equal Lugosi's, Frye's and Van Sloan's performances, the Spanish version of the film gives the U.S. version a decidedly good run for their money!

Does anyone know if this place (which I am guessing is in Finland yes?) ships abroad, namely to the UK. I can't imagine getting a better price than this elsewhere. Also, Teknomaagi, could you give me a guide to ordering from this site as I can't speak a word of Finnish.

Thanks

(ps apologies if I've got the wrong country, I'm just assuming .fi is Finland)

Does the R2 version come in the cool coffin?

the region 1 version has more extras thought than the brazilian version(i.e. dracula) but the case sure is cool.

www.dvdworld.br.com offers three tiers of shipping. They have a very cheap option, but it takes almost a month to arrived (in the U.S.).
