Decision Help: Pelican S-video Cords for DC and PS2?
I'm going to purchase an S-Video Switch for my home entertainment system. My main objective is to organize my setup. But secondly, I want to upgrade my Connections from the Standard A/V RCA plugs, to S-Video. My local funcoland had Pelican S-Video cables for PS2 (9.99) and Dreamcast (7.99) brand new. But i hesitated cause they're Pelican. I DO NOT want to pay 29.99 for the official sony ones, nor do i want to pay 99.99 for the monster cables. But will these pelican ones improve the image at all, or will they just be a crappy cable with a svideo plug at the end?
And, will i see a noticable difference with my Dreamcast and PS2?
(27 inch phillips/magnavox, about 1.5 years old, one svideo/rca input, one standard RCA, and one RCA output)

If you're not using a really nice TV, then the Pelican Cables are more than fine. I've been using them for 3 or 4 years for the systems you described and they've worked really well. The Pelican S-Video switchbox is really nice, too. I like it a lot.

You should see a pretty nice improvement with the S-video upgrade, even the with $10 ones (which I have). Couldn't bring myself to drop $100 for PS2 Monster cables, so I can't help you there.
