Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 Ride Critique and Exchange

Hi all, I have been playing RCT2 for the last 2 weeks, and I have yet to see a thread about it, so I thought that I would start my own. Let me start by saying that, Yes, I know that the official RCT2 site has a ride exchange, but I felt that we could start one here amongst the people that we all know... well, as much as you can know someone with only the internet to connect you.

So, here is what you should list, in order for someone to decide whether or not they want to d/l your coaster design:

Name
Coaster Type

Excitement Rating: ()
Intensity Rating: ()
Nausea Rating: ()
______________________
Max. Speed:
Avg. Speed:
Ride Time:
Ride Length:
Max. Positive Verticle G's:
Max. Negative Verticle G's:
Max. Lateral G's:
Total Airtime:
Drops:
Highest Drop Height:
Inversions:
Approx. Cost to Build:

In the ride designer it doesn't show you cost, so I have made a scenario that has all the rides already turned on, and you have plenty of money with which to test things out. (There isn't a lot of scenery though, it is mainly just to test rides.) You can go there and see how much the ride will cost on flat ground. Here is the scenario:

The Ultimate

You should also post a screenshot of the ride if you can. That is the major downfall of the official RCT2 ride exchange, you can't see what the ride looks like until you d/l it.

So, I will start with a set of racing coasters that I made.

American Racer 1 (Red)
LIM Launched Roller Coaster

Excitement Rating: 5.52 (High)
Intensity Rating: 11.26 (Extreme)
Nausea Rating: 6.39 (High)

Max. Speed: 54MPH
Avg. Speed: 29MPH
Ride Time: 48s
Ride Length: 2779ft
Max. Positive Verticle G's: 3.98g
Max. Negative Verticle G's: -1.84g
Max. Lateral G's: 2.38g
Total Airtime: 3.72s
Drops: 14
Highest Drop Height: 62ft
Inversions: 7
Approx. Cost to Build: $11934

American Racer 2 (Blue)
LIM Launched Roller Coaster

Excitement Rating: 5.55 (High)
Intensity Rating: 11.39 (Extreme)
Nausea Rating: 6.43 (High)
______________________
Max. Speed: 54MPH
Avg. Speed: 30MPH
Ride Time: 47s
Ride Length: 2739ft
Max. Positive Verticle G's: 4.29g
Max. Negative Verticle G's: -1.76g
Max. Lateral G's: 2.60g
Total Airtime: 3.24s
Drops: 13
Highest Drop Height: 62ft
Inversions: 7
Approx. Cost to Build: $12107

Here are the coasters:

American Racer 2

I know that the Excitement rating is a little low, and the Intensity is extreme, but it is really a cool ride. I haven't tried it in a park yet, so we shall see how the customers like it later. Let me know what you think.

I think it looks pretty cool. Sorry don't have RCT2, actually have never played any of the coaster sims. But I still think it looks cool. Similar to Dueling Dragoons at Islands of Adventure.

Thanks. RCT2 is a great game, but it can be boring just playing the scenarios. They fixed that this time around and added a track editor so you can make coasters without the money and time restraints. The only problem is, if you spend an hour or so building what you think is a sweet coaster, then it turns out to have a 7.0 verticle G force, then it sucks, and you have to start over or try to fix the problems. That is whyh on the American Racer coasters I went ahead and kept them, even with the Extreme intensity rating, those coasters took me a long time to build!

Just as a side question:
Does anybody have the problem where if you create a rollercoaster too complex or intense, the theme park visitor will ride it once and go, "Too intense for me." and puke at the side of the park and never go onto the ride anymore. And the ride becomes a waste and losing money because no one will ride at all.

Any comments??

Yeah, if it is REALLY extreme! Even in the scenario where you are supposed to make extreme coasters, I put in a coaster that didn't even have over a 10 in the intensity, and most people still wouldn't ride it. But if you put in something with an intensity of 17 , then nobody at all would ever ride it. That is why RCT2 is so cool, you can use the track designer to make what you want and test it, without wasting the money and time in a scenario.
