Is there a Korean version of An Autumn's Tale? I saw some talk of this, but have no idea where to get this, or even if the transfer is better than the Megastar version.

Any help appreciated.

Chaver.

Per Asian DVD guide, there are two Mega Star versions, one WA mainland China version and a Malaysian version. If there's a better DVD than the Mega Star, I'd like to know where it is. I really enjoyed Autumn's Tale.

Here's a link to the description at dvdasian. But it's listed as o/s.

For the non-vcdphobic, I have the MegaStar vcd and don't remember problems with the subs being mis-timed.

i have all 3 megastar versions and the newer korean version (sorry, but this is one of my favorite movies). i bought the korean version after hearing that the english subs were going to be better than the HK version. BUT.....even though media asia licensed this movie to the korean company that released it (i forget the name), the aspect ratio's all wrong!! whereas the HK release is 1.85, this one appears to be artificially squished to 2.35, so the picture appears "flattened". at first i thought it was my player, but i have two standalone players and a dvd-rom...the picture is the same on all. it's a regrettable purchase for me, so i'm advising against buying it.

darmok, did you try setting your player to 16:9 instead of 4:3 ltrbox? Some other Korean discs were mis-mastered and changing that setting did the trick. Worth a try anyway.

So, was the incorrect aspect ration on the Korean disc correctable with the 16:9 setting of the dvd player?

And what about the subs on the Korean disc? I've read that on the Hong Kong dvd the subtitles are one or two lines ahead of the spoken dialogue from the 21 minute mark til the 36 minute one.
