Did Toe Jam and Earl turn out bad?
I've heard nothing at all about this game. The manager at EB said he had sold only a single copy. Anyone actually get to play it? I was thinking about renting it, but with House of the Dead III also out I was thinking of renting that instead. Wonder if TJ&E will just end up being another Sega sales flop.

Here is a good user review from what I've seen is a pretty trustworthy guy.

Apparently the gamespot review flat out sucks. I watched a video on the individual who reviewed it and he makes the fat comic book guy on the simpsons look like James Bond. (not that that matter mind you, but I don't think I'll be paying attention to the guy's reviews again since I can tell we are completely different people).
I guess the IGN review is a lot more objective and fair and accurate, even though it gives the game a low score. Read the IGN review to see if you'd like the game or not. Read the gamespot review to read why the reviewer didn't like the game.

Reviewers are ripping it far more than consumers in forums.
It sounds like the developers did exactly what they attempted. They wanted to recreate the first TJ&E, but in a 3D world. That would mean it's a mellow, good-for-2-player humorous game. It also means it's a good rental, but questionable purchase.

I am going to ignore the last comment and say that I like this game a lot. I picked up on Wednesday and have been playing it ever since. If you are a fan of the first Toe Jam and Earl (not the crappy second one) then you will like this one. The graphics are spectacular but that aren't meant to be. It's all about the gameplay. THey have tried to incorporate a lot of the element of the first game into this one and then added much much more. The different humans you come across are funny and so is the dialogue that they spout. A lot of the humor is risque and suggestive but it is funny. I suggest that if you like the Toe Jam and Earl games you pick this one up or at least give it a rent.
