Well, it looks like "Friends" is coming back for a 10th season

From IMDB:

Hit sitcom Friends is set to return for a 10th series after a huge pay deal was put on the table - according to American gossip bible The National Enquirer. Reports suggest that, despite denying it to the media, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc have made an agreement to return as the New Yorkers. But they have to convince fellow Friend Jennifer Aniston to join them. The deal from NBC includes a $300,000 per episode pay rise, taking their weekly pay to $1.3 million. Also, they will only sign on to do 13 episodes, instead of the 22 usually filmed. However, the last episode will be a one-hour bonanza to see the series end with a bang. A source at NBC says, "So far, the only cast member who has not agreed in principle to come back next year is Jennifer Aniston. Unlike some of the other Friends stars who've tried to get movie careers going but have met with little success, Jennifer has actually been on a roll recently. She got good reviews for the movie The Good Girl and is now in demand for some big-budget films. But the rest of the cast believes that she'll eventually sign on."

So very very tired.

Of course, I don't blame these guys - I don't know why they would ever want it to end. Their movie careers suck so why not milk the thing for all its worth.

Jennifer Aniston...or Mrs. Pitt, if you prefer would probably have good reason not to want to return. She actually has a chance at a career. I think only David Schwimmer would be the only other to be sucessful, directing episodes of sitcoms. He did do a pretty good job the handful of times he did it.

But regardless, I believe the story is fabricated. You can't trust the National Enquirer.

Aniston needs to get out of there. She's a very talented actress and has enough cash to buy a small country. Time to move on and become more than just a pretty face. The others ... hell yeah ... I'd stay too.

As for NBC, let it die ...

Oh god no. I keep reading all these articles that it shouldnt end but I have watched it a few times this season and it's horrible.
Why?
Its going to continue like Seinfeld and Cheers and Frasier, way past it's prime.

How about creating some NEW shows worth watching NBC???

I disagree that Seinfeld was way past its prime. It ended right IN its prime IMO.

With Friends, its a great show but this should be it. Quit before you suck

Why couldn't Saved By The Bell keep not ending? Well, I suppose they did extend another season by giving the gang another senior year for the Tori episodes, but I still think they could have been seniors for another three years at least, before the College Years.

While I agree that this show should just end, I'm not too surprised if this turns out to be true. I thought something might be up when the promos this year for Friends haven't focused on the "only x more episodes left" aspect of the season.

...but I still can't get beyond the fact that any publication is using the National freakin' Enquirer as a source.

Could somebody please line up Courteny Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and David Schwimmer for me?

Ok, great.

Let the show go on!

someone please let this show die already. while still entertaining, it's time to let it go, although if the cast decides to come back, 1.3M for a week's work ain't bad.

Assuming this is true, david Schwimmer has expressed a desire to return to Chicago and do theater and teaching. So who knows.

Also, don't discount Lisa Kudrow. She isn't doing too bad. Analyze this and analyze that, romy and michelle (all hits), plus critical reviews for Opposite of Sex.

Seinfeld REPEATS that I have seen 6 or 7 times are still funnier than any series currently on TV outside of Curb Your Enthusiasm (a Larry "Seinfeld" David series). Seinfield may have peaked before it ended, but it was still easily the funniest thing on TV. And still is today. When will they put it on dvd!!!!!!!!!

WHAT!?!?!?

You have just shattered all of my illusions.

I haven't watched an episode of Friends for two years. I agree with johnglad that Seinfeld repeats are funnier than just about anything currently on network TV.

NBC must REALLY need this show to keep going strong in the ratings to shell out this kind of dough. I watched the shows my Junior and Senior years of High School then tuned out after my Freshman year in college. Haven't been a consistent viewer since.

I hope they wrap it up this year. The show is still funny most of the time and getting Chandler away from Monica is the best idea they could have, but babies and weddings should signal the end.
