Question about Le Haine (Korean Version)

I was wondering if anyone knows if the Korean version of Le Haine has been cut?

On the POKERINDUSTRIES site you could see both the British Tartan version which is described as being 97min and the Korean anamorphic version being described as 94min? Is this really the case....has the Korean version been cut or is it simply a mistake by the vendor?

Thank you so much for answering my questions.....(as you could tell I do ask a lot of questions regarding non-region 1 releases).

... I assume that the Korean disc is NTSC? Keep in mind the PAL speedup factor, which would mean that if Poker Industries' info is correct, then the Korean disc has even more missing than you may initially have thought...

The French release has a listed time of 95 mins. It's the one I'd recommend (surprise! ). I don't think Amazon France have it listed as available anymore, but you can still get it from FNAC.

Agreed. I am very pleased with this release. No subs on the extras, but very nice DVD.

I've had the Korean version and can't say anything bad about it...Transfer wise it's 16:9 and the subs are good, though there is some minor, awkward translation flaws that do not deter from the viewing...

well, in fact I have been able to confirm that the Korean version is indeed cut.......you could see that some of the forum members above have noticed that as well.

For me this is a good enough reason not to buy it.....as I said I will go with the French version(which I think is the logical move here....it is a French movie after all)!!

AAAHHH... me confused. I'm about to place an order from Blackstar.uk b/c I've been wanting to see Girl on a Bridge for so long. So I decided to through a few others in with it, including La Haine. But if it's cut, I definitely don't want to do that! Any confirmation on this would be very appreciated!

I am pretty sure the UK Tartan disc is not cut, so you should be fine as that would be the version that Blackstar would be selling. Of the versions discussed in this thread, it appears that the only question mark is over whether the Korean disc is cut or not.

Dazza is 100% correct (as I could confirm that at this point as well)....as opposed to the chopped Korean disc.....

With other words....you're safe getting the TARTAN disc.

so, does anyone know if the korean dvd
is actually cut
or
is it just the PAL speed up causing the time differential?

i have a crappy apex player to do my pal-ntsc conversion
but, i'd prefer an ntsc copy if possible...

any info
much appreciated

toodles,
wing
