Steel Battalion--$59.99

Hey everyone. I'm not looking to buy this game (or experience it, as it were), but this price jumped out at me while browsing through spun.com. Better still, is you can trade old games/DVDs toward the price, so you can get it for basically nothing. This is, of course, if this listing is for the $200 game that everyone else seems to be selling for, well, $200.

Are they releasing some kind of stripped down version?

Regardless, here's the link:
http://www.spun.com/games/product-detail.jsp?id=2191740

If you guys don't think this is the right product or something, just let me know, and I'll delete the thread. Honestly, I don't know anything about this game.

PS I've had spun.com honor a price mistake before, but not for $140.

No, there is only 1 version of Steel Battalion. That's a huge pricing screwup.

I ordered a copy. We shall see what goes down.

That probably doesn't include the controller.

My thoughts exactly, there's absolutely no description with that item, not even a picture. They could package crap in a box and mail it to you assuming the box read "steel battalion" and it'd all be legal ;p

But how would they sell it without the controller? And if they did, why wouldn't Amazon, buy.com, compusa, or any other online merchant offer that as an option (they don't)?

To rip of a few people that who think they're getting a deal.

It's likely just a pricing screw up, and I doubt they'll honor it at $140 difference.

All I can think of is the idiots on ebay who sell Socom as brand new but they've taken out the headset (and are selling that in a separate auction). I doubt spun would do that but they could separate the two and still sell the sealed game as new.

From what I've read here and there, the game actually controls pretty well without the big fancy controller -- admittedly, some commands could be a bit more complicated, but who knows. I think Gamespot talked about it when they did their hands on impressions a few weeks ago.

My order still shows as "in progress" ... we'll see what happens. Funny how the game now shows an MSRP of $59.99, but can be bought (new) for the low price of $199.99.

Down to $179.99 now. Looks like they can't make up their minds on a price....

Even though I didn't get in on my own posted misprice because I have no real desire for it, I have hope for you guys that did

BTW, they have a Mario Sunshine for $27.99 used. Not bad if you're looking for it. Of course, most GameCubers wouldn't be looking in a Steel Battalion thread...

I love this site: I put it in my cart at $179.99, and now it's $199.99 again, even after I deleted it from my cart.

Has anyone gotten SB shipped from Spun.com? I've been waiting for it to ship but my order status remains the same..."In Progress"

I tried to order something from spun.com a few months ago. I gave up after several weeks of 'in progress'.

I never flat out buy things from Spun.com, I only trade with them. If they know that they have items coming to them then your items ship out quicker.

I did do a trade, but it didn't seem to speed things up.

That's the kicker. I know this is true and I have a bunch of stuff I'm trading in for this game. The trade in and their 179.00 price has me waiting. I'm hoping with the Dec 2nd shipment, they'll send mine out.
