Functional Equivelent of Toshiba 3108

Does anyone know of a functional equivelent of a Toshiba 3108. I love mine dearly, but I'm starting to run into some incompatibilities with recent DVDs. The last time the firmware was upgraded was when Tomorrow Never Dies was released. Since it's almost four years ago, it probably won't be worth it to try and get the firmware upgraded again. (It's a 1999 player.)

So, what's a good replacement? I love the remote control layout, especially the jog feature and the light-up remote.
