I find a couple of things interesting. First, it was report back on 9/7 that Sega was rumored to be aligning itself with one of the big three left in the console market.
See: http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=235153&highlight=Sega

Second, it was posted on here just a few days ago that on 10/15 X-box is going to be sold with 2 games and S controller. These two games are Sega GT 2002 and JSRF.
See: http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=240705&highlight=Sega

Does anyone else find it interesting that these are 2 Sega titles? Why would Sega be giving MS the right to package their games with the system if they weren't trying to strengthen MS' market share before coming on-board? Are there any announcements expected from Sega in the weeks surrounding the X-box combo release?

I tend to think that unless MS really makes a stoopid offer (and they have the bucks to do so), that Sega will do just what they are. They are getting lots of sales by playing the field and will probably continue. But, the MS $$ card can kill any of that.

I'm sure Sega makes a crapload of money off of those packages. Sheesh every developer is aligning with Microsoft these days.

Microsoft is (depending on how you look at it) poised to take the PS2 out of the picture in the next generation.

They are nailing the "top" developers to some exclusive contracts, and have SEGA on board as well(apparently).

This is the main reason why I hate MS so much..

Of course they are, but the PS3 will be around then :). If you were saying that they will take Sony out of the picture, I think it would take another generation to do so, but why does it matter if they do? The games will still be there, just on a more powerful and versitile system. What in house games would you really miss from Sony?

Just as Sony did when releasing the PS and PS2 (except for Sega).

Them trying to become a competitor in the console market? Sony did the same thing, do you hate them?
