I got an email from a blizzard rep saying that they will ban the CD key of anyone seen abusing the human farm glitch until the glitch is fixed in the next patch. Nevertheless, I won't be playing any ladder games until this problem is fixed.

Well blizzard has been known to ban cheaters and so forth, but if your using a glitch in there system caused by them.. thats something else. Maybe they should have fixed it before selling. many companies feel the end to rush a product and later patch it.

Er, it could've been discovered after the game was released. It might have had nothing to do with 'rushing it out' -- believe it or not, sometimes games have bugs.

What's the glitch? I don't plan online very often, so this is unfamiliar to me.

It has to do with building a farm then destroying it and getting more resources than it cost to build it.
I don't play Wc3 so I don't use it :)

yeah I did a quick search and did find it out. I hope they change it since otherwise people can use it against you.

No, Blatently abusing a glitch is as bad as hacking. To put it in Counterstrike terms, it is like purposely using bad video card drivers so that textures like walls show up as wireframes, also known as wallhacking.

is it as bad as throwing smoke nades like crazy making it literally impossible to see for the folks playing with a weak graphics card?

Exploiting glitches is certainly undesirable, but I disagree that exploiting a glitch is as bad as hacking. Using external programs to alter the game is different than exploiting a glitch which the game's makers have an obligation to patch and fix.
Further, exploiting glitches in online play does not violate the user's license agreement, unlike using a hack.
I wish Blizzard would do something about the jerks who hide farms around the map so when they lose, it takes an extra twenty minutes to wipe out all the stupid farms they've hidden everywhere. They shouldn't just ban them, though. They should fix the game.

Either way, it will be fixed in the new patch. The sooner the better I say.
You play against someone who has unlimited gold, and then tell me its not cheating.
BTW I have a funny replay where I beat a farm bugger. Email me if you want it.
