Sorry for the clunky title, but I couldn't think of another way to put it. What I'm trying to say is that in Madden 2003, I don't have time to play the entire 12 min quarter games. I play 4 min quarters, I think it's just more fun and I can work through franchise modes more steadily.

In a game with 4 min quarters I'd say you get roughly 6-8 possessions. Scoring 21-28 points is a pretty big deal, and to get a 100 yard rusher or 300 yard passer is nearly an impossibility. But when I put the stats of my guys against the computer stats, I get blown away. Favre is averaging nearly 290 yards/game and the leading rusher is up around 110 yards/game.

Is there a reason why the games don't take into account the length of the games and just simulate them generically?

Submit a bug to EA and ask them to fix that.

The thing that bothers me about this is that it shouldn't be a big deal to correct.

If the default is 15 minute quarters and the player's dynasty/season is using 10 minute quarters, multiple each stat by .66.

I don't understand why they haven't addressed this either.

One of the stat problems that has always bugged me in EA's NHL series is the number of power plays everyone but my team receives over the course of a season. It always looks like the other teams have ten times as many power plays. It's not like I turn them off or anything.

What really bugs me is once you finish the year, your guys are nowhere to be seen in the MVP and other awards races. Kurt Warner had a QB rating around 110 after I finished last season, but had about 1500 yards and 100 completions less than Favre (I think) and didn't even show up in the MVP voting, while Favre won (even though his QB rating was something like 79 and threw 4 times the interceptions as me). Therefore Favre's overall rating went through the roof while mine stayed the same. It's just really annoying especially because as you mentioned, you think it would be easy enough to fix, but I've never seen it done in any game.

Well, on NFL2K3, at least, the trick is to simulate all the computer games with a shorter time. For me, I change the quarter-length to 5 minutes, simulate the games, and then before I play my game I change it back to 7 or 8. With 7 or 8 minute quarters, you can easily get realistic stats...
