8 Simple Rules - 10/1/02
Well, it seems that the impossibly low-riding pants of Kaley Cuoco will be a constant staple of this show.
Not that I'm complaining, mind you....
Katey Sagal actually got more than a couple of lines this week, too.

I really like the show and the eye candy is not too bad either. I really like the character development of John Ritter and his 2 daughters. But they need to develop his sons character a little more. And Katey Sagal, really needs a bigger part. She seems to be the weak point right now.
But this is a smartly written show that has me laughing out loud quite a few times. Believe me this is the 1st ABC sitcom that I've watched since Home Improvement and I don't watch CBS sitcoms.

I'm liking this show and it's making me laugh a bit.
But none of these new shows has anything I couldn't live without.
I hope they go somewhere with this show.

Yeah, the show has actually made me laugh out loud a number of times, too. Ritter's got that double-take thing down pretty good, and the scenarios (of course it's only been 3 episodes) have been very relatable.
They can downplay the son a little more, though, if you ask me. The whole escaped-rat-snake-spider story was pretty lame and reeked of seen-it-before-itis.

Ritter and Katey are great and this show has lots of polish but I wouldn't cut a vein if it disappeared.

It's on opposite BtVS, so it (8 Simple, that is) has already been relegated to "oh yeah, I should tape that" status.
That's one step away from "yeah, I remember that show - I used to watch it" for me.

I don't think that it has staying power. Katey Segal's character is a throwaway, as is the son, which is too bad, because I kind of like him. I have a feeling that the shows are all going to become very similar week in and week out.

My wife and I had a conversation last night where basically we said "Why are we watching any of the new shows".
We both are at time entertained but nothing has grabbed me and drawn me in yet (other then the low cut pants)

I do like this show but as everyone has said it is nothing we haven't seen before but something about John Ritter that makes me laugh I keep waiting for "Crazy Larry" or RF to show up. It would be classic "Open up it's RF! sniff sniff". THat daughter is one hot tamale! This is another one I would like to bed down with!

And, truthfully, we only watch this one when it's rerun on ABC Family on Saturday. It's on during JAG and Enterprise, which get our TVs instead.

Acc'd to tvguide online, ABC has just picked up the show for a full season so that gives us perverts 19 more opportunities to . I guess if it gets renewed for next season, around the half-way point we can with a clear conscience.
