what should my next xbox game be?

I have Max Payne, Halo, Spiderman, Silent Hill 2, Genma Onimusha and Obi Wan. I'm a LOTR fan so I will pick that one up but I also have a $45 compUSA gift card I want to use. So I'm trying to decide which game to get next. Racing and Sports games aren't appealing to me. So whadya'll think?
1. Buffy
2. Thing
3. Dead to rights
4. Hitman 2
5. Enclave
6. Blinx coming soon...
7. Something else (list it)

Enclave is a good game. Slightly frustrating due to lack of mid-level saves and it is kicking my butt right now. I would wait for it to come down to at least 39.99. I am also thinking out picking up Buffy when the price comes down.

I am going to rent Blinx. I am ready for a good platformer on the XBOX. Just not sure if I will like the time-shift aspect of the game.

Others that I am waiting for are:

Splinter Cell
Malice
House of the Dead (mindless fun)
Ghost Recon
Medal Of Honor: Frontline
Shenmue II
Jedi Knight II

My vote would go for Buffy as well with one minor warning, the game is fairly short. First time through took 5.5 hours. My best time through is 3.75 hours. I have won on easy, medium and hard and have played to get all the secrets, etc. I have done this because I like the game. But, for those who aren't huge Buffy fans, might just be a rental.

As far as what's on the horizon, gotta go with Splinter Cell. If it lives up to its promise, it will be the game to have third quarter.

I don't have an Xbox, but I will say that the original Hitman was an incredible and highly underrated game on the PC. I am definitely looking forward to the sequel.

I've played about 4 of the games on your list so I'll go through them.

1. Buffy: I don't even watch the show, but I loved the game. Great fighting, awesome graphics and fun story (very tongue-in-cheek humor). I agree though that it is short enough for a rental but still worth a purchase. It's even got a cool arena protion (accessible with a code) so you can play your friends.

2. The Thing: I only played this for about 20 minutes (a friend rented it) and while it seemed okay, it really did suck me in. The graphics are nice and if you're a fan of the movie it might be worth it to you. Overall, it feels more like a PC game than console.

3. Dead to Rights: I'm renting this one right now, and I really like it. I'm up to chapter 10 (out of 14) and that's after two pretty full days so it might take awhile. It's got good graphics and fun gameplay even though it gets repetitious at times. If you like John Woo movies and Max Payne, this might be a good pick up.

4. Enclave: This was another one rented by a friend of mine, and now I want to go buy it. It took awhile to get used to the combat system but now I like it. It's a great mix of RPG and action games. The graphics are INCREDIBLE. Fantastic textures. It's the first game I played on my new HDTV and it blew me away.
Its got cool weapons and allows you to mix and match equipment to find the best outfits for each mission (without losing gold).

So I would but Enclave or Dead to Rights. Even though Buffy is probably the most fun, it's also the one you could finish with one rental.

Hope that's helpful.

Sega Soccer Slam is a very highly recommended sports game for people who generally don't like sports games. I'm in that camp, and it's an almost indescribably fun game.

thank you all for the replies and reviews (finbogg!) Clearly no simple one choice that obviously stands out above the rest....

Man it seems like so many decent/good games have been released lately with even more on the horizon. A good problem to have no doubt just doesn't make it as easy to know where to drop the $50.... hmmm.
