Best Buy gift cards with $5 coupon attached

I know that the BB video game $5 coupons are fairly common in the gaming mags, but they usually expire within a couple of months.

Best Buy now has gift cards for sale that come in a CD case and include a $5 coupon that doesn't expire until 12/31/03.

If you buy video games or accessories at BB anyway, it seems logical to me to first buy these gift cards. You get a free coupon and CD case for the minimal trouble.

At my BB, they had about 300 of these CD cases spread throughout the video game section.

Just went up near my Best Buy but unfortunately I didn't realize they closed at 6 on Sunday... Can you give the specifics of the coupon... min purchase, what's it good on, etc ... what denomination gift card you have to buy to get it, etc

Thanks.

It's the usual video game coupon, $5 off any video game or accessory $19.99 or higher. I have been able to use these on PC games in the past btw.

I believe you can purchase any denomination on the gift card, I did $20.

That's a great tip. Thanks for the heads up. I'll check my local bestbuy tomorrow.

Can I use that coupon with any purchase, or is it only video games?

says $5 off $19.99 video game or accessory.

good till 12/2003 by the way.

the ones at my store were in a single cd case and were no specific amount. you just bring as many as you want up and tell them how much you want on the gift card($5 min I bet)

I got three and put $10 on each. the cards are kind of neat and reloadable if you would even want to do that.

Where was it in the CD case?
Just went to my local BestBuy yesterday, and they have tons of the CD case giftcard... but I didn't see any coupons included.

There's no way that you could have missed it if it was there, so maybe BB has some with coupons and some without.

I think I'm going to go stock up on $5 giftcards.

Yeah, I checked. Hundreds of gift cards in CD cases, no coupons. There are, however new Netflix promos in DVD cases that contain coupons for BOTH PC and console games. So my trip to Best Buy was still very worthwhile.

I started a thread about ithe new promo here : http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=242175

Last week, I finally found these gift cards, but forgot to post... :P

Basically, there are two kinds of gift cards. Ones at the front of the store, near the cds and stuff, which have Happy Birthday on them or something like that, come in CD cases with no coupons. THe ones near the videogame aisle all come with coupons (which are just part of the CD case backing).

BTW, the least you can put on the card is 2 dollars, though I think they'd catch on if you did that. Since I'm going to be buying games anyway, I put five bucks on a few of them...
