Got 4 in Section 214 at the Allstate, $175 total

Oh well, I'm happy. Last time I saw them, Smashing Pumpkins opened for them at the (then) Rosemont Horizon

I wonder if Axl will be an a-hole like in the past and not come onstage until 2 in the morning. Nothing like a 6 hour gap between when the opener goes off and the headliner goes on.

I saw that GNR show with the Pumpkins opening too. I remember vividly people screaming at them, "You suck!". If this really were Guns N' Roses, then I might bother, but it ain't. It's the Axl Rose project. Change the damn name of the band or make good with Slash, Izzy, and Duff. Those were the days, my friends.

I just checked the tickets for the Chicago show - there were a few pairs on the floor around 20 rows or so back. Seems like there are a lot of lower level seats but towards the back half.

Go by yourself or buy a single ticket there was 5th row in the 1st section on the side. - excellent seat.

I don't get it. Why would people want to see Guns N Roses? This isn't 1988 after all. I'm definitely not picking on the people that are going, it's just really really surprising to me. I can see people that liked Grateful Dead or Rolling Stones or whatever, but does Guns n Roses carry enough from a decade ago to fill Madison Square Garden? Apparently so.

Because Welcome to the Jungle is a good song.
Because Paradise City is a good song.
Because Mr Bownstone is a good song.

Etc etc etc.

And I want to hear them. Live.

They're good songs. Period. Why would the passage of a "decade" change that?

Me thinks those of you who want a copy can buy me a 2nd VCR to do so

And no, doesn't have the flashing. Tape begins with GNR's intro ramp muisc "My Way". It's 2.5 hours long and I think Paradise City and 1 other was cutoff at the end (move to the city? mama kin?).

my Rosemont Horizon tape, 4-9-92:

nighttrain
mr brownstone
axl speech/rant about rolling stone mag
live and let die
attitude
it's so easy
guitar solo
patience
axl speech/rant
double talkin jive
guitar solo
civil war
axl speech/rant
welcome to the jungle
piano solo
november rain
you could be mine
drum solo
guitar solo (god father theme?)
coma
dont cry (with shannon hoon of blind melon)
bad obsession
sweet child o mine
guitar solo
knockin on heavens door
so fine

I'm not attacking you at all. It's just surprising to me.

I'm surprised they can get such a big response with such a radically different line-up. Lots of 80's rock acts are putting on big tours, but they're all reunions of original members.
