Morrowind XBOX - $10.88 - In store only

Hey, saw this on FatWallet,

http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...ct_code=287388

People at FW said that they have gone in and gotten it for this price, one guy said he was able to price match at Toys R Us...

Thought I would pass it on...

don't why morrowind got called it back. it's d01(discontinued, no more ordering allowed) in the system.
compusa doesn't hold on to games long, least they are trying not to, thats how alot of them still of dc games for such outrages prices.

I just got back from a local CompUSA (they had three on the shelf) and got my $10.88 copy. As others have asked, why was it discontinued? I called a local EB (not that they are the end all of info), and they have heard nothing of it being discontinued.

I do get a kick out of the CompUSA website now:

"HA!!! HA!!! You were too slow. The price went back up. Come back tomorrow and see if you can find the next one."

If anyone is able to pick this up for 10.88 at CompUSA...will you please pick me up one.

Kind of a thanks for the heads up...I'll cover your cost for it plus shipping to me...

I am not close to a CompUSA and my price matching attempts went for nothing.

Thanks a lot

Please e-mail if you are willing to help me out!

Thanks again!

Jason

What's with the message on their website? Does this mean that the $10.88 price is gone completely (even if you buy it in-store)?

If it is not gone completely, how long does this price last (in-store)?

I have my assistant is scrambling like a madman going around town trying to pick as many of these up, both at CompUSA and through pricematches. Hopefully he'll get enough copies to justify the time and gas money. I've already got the HTML ready for ebay...just waiting for his call...

OK For the sarcastically impaired:

Spoiler:
This is a joke!! He has no assistant, but he is hoarding them like a madman and Ebaying them, that part is real.

a little CompUSA background:
i'm pretty sure this is what happened: compusa doesn't go thru a buyer to get merchandise they have a jobber then a buyer (more expensive this way) im thinkin compusa bought morrowwind back when for more then they can retail for, and the rtv it to get back the money (this happens quite often actually, thats why it goes discontinued, to stop orders at that price) and will buy it from another jobber thats cheaper and restock it. why corperate dropped the price to 10.88 i have no idea. they obvisously caught the mistake, changed website and stores will change slowly. it might not happen till next monday at the latest (thats when the price devation list comes out, when stores normally change system prices)
happy hunting!

on another note, christmas inventory is happening nationwide in the next 3 weeks at compusa. this is also when the liquidators come. before the liquidators come, they will try to sell the stuff that is old, discontinued, refurbished, open box, etc (liquidators only pay 10 cents to the dollar, so selling is the best option) you might want to stop your local compusa in the next couple of weeks and see whats being sold off. its usually in a bin or a table good place to stock up on some open boxed items, games and what not. of course all the good stuff (laptops, lcd screens) are picked off by employees first, but some of you might get lucky.

current price on website: 44.99
current price in store computer system: 10.88 (just checked)

Just got back from the Princeton store...

They had none in stock, but the guy said it was indeed both "discontinued" and priced at $10.88. Oh well, I'd have picked it up for that price, but I wasn't planning on ever getting it, so no biggie.

What's with CompUSA's website though? Weird.

None at the Pleasanton, CA store either. Didn't bother asking, same boat here, at $10.88 easy decision, not going to bother now though.

I'm still trying to figure out what game I want for the XBox, won it last year at an MS thing, got Tony Hawk 3 for my son but nothing compels me yet. Lots of good stuff for my Game Cube though...

Great post! I was wanting to try this game out but was not gonna pay 50 bucks since I normally don't get into RPGs. Went by my local CompUSA & picked it up for $10.88! Awesome!

Thanks again. (I actually thought this thread was a joke at first )

If anyone can still get this or maybe picked up an extra, I would be interested.

Thanks, MB

Will someone verify if this is still going on in-store for Tuesday, Sept the 11th? Thanks. My assistant was busy today, but tomorrow he should have some time to go around town and price-match and buy them up at various COMPUSA's for Ebay/Half.com selling. (just kidding, I only plan on getting one).

Tuesday is 9/10/02 not 9/11/02. 9/11/02 is on Weds. i believe it's still 10.88 @ the brick n mortar compusa.

I bought 2 in Fountain valley store, 1 in CC as a pricematch for 6.97(110%), and 1 in sears as pricematch. Opened 3, then traded them at eb for $30 a piece=$90 eb store credit.

Making my all star baseball 2003 and morrowind adventure total to $318 eb store credit.
