"Gilmore Girls" soundtrack to be released Sept. 24

I'm not sure if this should be posted in Music Talk or TV Talk, but I'll go with my instincts and post it in TV Talk.

The album is titled "Our Little Corner of the World: Music From Gilmore Girls". Here are the tenatative track listings:

"Tell Her What She Wants To Know," Sam Phillips
"What a Wonderful World," Joey Ramone
"Child Psychology," Black Box Recorder
"Know Your Onion!," the Shins
"I Found Love," the Free Design
"Car Song," Elastica
"Oh My Love," John Lennon & the Plastic Ono Band
"Where You Lead I Will Follow," Carole King & Louise Goffin
"Clear Spot," Pernice Brothers
"One Line," PJ Harvey
"I'm the Man Who Murdered Love," XTC
"Thirteen," Big Star
"Human Behaviour," Bjork
"I Don't Mind," Slumber Party
"It's Alright, Baby," Komeda
"God Only Knows," Claudine Longet
"Smile," Grant Lee Phillips
"O'Oh," Yoko Ono
"Girl From Mars," Ash
"My Little Corner of the World," Yo La Tengo

It's great that they are releasing a full version of the theme song, but I was hoping that they would also include the shortened version. Also, I hearded of some of the artists, but those songs sound totally unfamilar to me. I'll have to check it out.

I will *probably* pick it up. This is a choice lineup...XTC, PJ Harvey, Bjork, Sam Phillips, Grant Lee Phillips...I love all these people. Kudos to the person who picks the music for this show .

Coolness! This is turning out to be a great day for music with Buffy: OMWF and Peter Gabriel's Up also coming out that day.

According to the Rhino Records website, this has been pushed back a week til October 1. The new season is still scheduled for Sept. 24.

I just discovered this show 2 weeks ago, and I really like it. I'm glad I'll be able to see it from the first episode on Sundays.
