Anyone else cash in at EB sale today?
Took in 20 DVDs (most not worth $10) for the $10 DVD trade in coupon and two PS2 games for the extra $5 trade in coupon.
I did it in two separate transactions since the coupons technically say limit one per person, but they were cool about it. I got $200 for the DVDs, $52 for the games plus they gave me the sales tax. it ended up at $272 and change. I bought Pinball of the Dead and got the rest on gift cards.
Thats at least the next four games I want to buy already paid for.
The EB deal is amazing so I hope everyone took advantage of it since it was only today.

The guy at the local EB took the seven I brought in -- Almost Famous (the original version), Halloween II (Goodtimes), the non-anamorphic Halloween IV, Good Guys Wear Black, Rancid Aluminum, the Bad News Bears in Basic Training, and the Bad News Bears Go To Japan -- and I wound up with $73 and change in credit. I paid in advance for Buffy the XBox and got the rest put on a gift card.

It depends on the store. I get along well with the guys at the one I go to and they always help me out.
The DVDs I traded included all the South Park ones (since the box set is coming), Destroying America, a couple of crappy Mandacy titles I think I paid $5 for each, the free Supergirl DVD I got from Anchor Bay, my three Shaft DVDs, The Corruptor, Wild, Wild West, the original crappy Highlander, and MI2.
The two PS2 games were Shadow Hearts which I got $22 for and Sled Storm which I got for $9.99 at Target but never opened. Since it was sealed he gave me $29.99 for it which is the price it sells for new at EB.
The thing with EB is you have to know the guys you are dealing with since there is a lot of room in what they can and can't take. Its usually up to the guy at the counter and if you know the guy or he is nice he will usually take stuff he doesn't have to.

I did pretty well. I scrounged around here for some extra stuff...
I ended up taking two movies where the disc was "loose" in the
case when they arrived, so they had niks on the inner part of the
dvd (near the hole). Still played fine, the but the company I
bought them from replaced them for me and didn't want the
damaged ones back.
I took in almost famous-original version-just as the poster above
did. I even had three copies of one movie from a used dvd bin
at a local (non chain), rental store...each of those cost me a
buck...yeah beleive it or not, a dollar.
There was a problem scanning one dvd, but the clerk entered it
manually. I was lucky to get a guy who didn't care about being
there, and seemed to be willing to take anything...but I only
had 8 dvds. Dreams of a "free" PS2 were dashed by a lack of
extra dvds around here.
For some reason 8 dvds came to $85 and change...like someone
said above, they aparently gave me the sales tax on them too.
Not bad for a pile of stuff that I pretty much couldn't give away,
even to friends who wanted better versions (like almost famous).
I regret giving away some of the ones I already had (first version
of dogma comes to mind)...but I am sure the receipients enjoyed
them at the time.
I can't complain at all about the deal. Whenever some good
gamecube stuff comes out that I don't have already (as is the
case now where I don't want whats out), I have some money
to pick them up "for free". Monkey Ball 2, Mario Party 4, etc...
Thumbs up to EB, especially my local one!

one of the best deals ever
Hi everyone, this is my first post ever after lurking for almost two years. This deal was so good I felt a need to comment!
After learning about this deal here, I went on Tuesday and picked up two sheets of coupons at a store just up the road that opened a little over a month ago. The employees there were raving about the deals and actually told me to bring in cheap dvds! They said they would be accepting anything as long as it was "a movie and not a highlight reel, or documentary".
I already had about ten discs at home I was planning to sell off on ebay, which only would have made 10 bucks each if I was lucky. Considering I had paid much less for them originally, I knew I was set for my 100 credit. I just needed ten more discs for the wife to get another 100 credit.
On Wednesday I went to K-mart and got two of the Goodtimes 2-packs for 9.99 each. I also bought four of the "5.99 WB/NL" titles from BB, however I bought them off their website where each one was an additional 60 cents savings. When I went in store to pick them up, I also got two Madacy 4.99 titles. That gave me my ten discs for a total cost of 53.78 after sales tax.
Finally, this evening, the wife and I went up to the corner EB Games with our twenty discs. She traded in the first ten:
Star Trek 2 (originally got it from Columbia House, just got SE)
Star Trek 3 (again, less then 9.50 from CH, SE in Oct)
Last Starfighter (CH again, notice a trend?)
Shining (3.99 CH special)
Never Say Never Again (4.00 from CH)
Bowfinger (free from JPIII deal)
Caddyshack (CH again)
Falling Down (4.99 special)
Sixth Sense (CH again, got Vista upgrade)
Cable Guy (one last CH disc)
Then it was my turn, with these wonderful titles:
Night Of The Living Dead (Madacy)
Little Princess (also Madacy)
Drop Dead Gorgeous
Bachelor
Pump Up The Volume
NL Loaded Weapon
Ghost Dad
Bustin Loose
Mr Baseball
Problem Child
The EB worker was more then happy to take ANYTHING based on the piles of crap I saw on the counter.
So, in conclusion, I doubled my money (into store credit), and used the 209 (after tax) to get:
Star Fox Adventures
Mario Party 4
Metroid Prime
Legend Of Zelda
UNBELIEVABLE! Considering before this deal came along I was expecting to pay 50 bucks for each of these titles and instead I just paid fifty and got all four. (I am not counting the "sunk cost" for the first ten discs that were being eliminated from my collection anyway).
I would have reserved Mario Sunshine but I already purchased it for 40 bucks through samgoody.com with their 10 off 50 coupon from a week or two ago. I couldn't bring myself to cancel that preorder considering I spent the time to find the cheapest thing on their site (a piece of sheet music) to put the total just barely over 50 to use the coupon! (Mario was only 49.99, and they had free shipping.)
Well, hope you enjoyed my story, and I hope everyone else here had as much good luck as I did.
Matt

I traded 6 dvds for about $64. They were The Mexican, Shaft (2000), The Good, the Bad, the Ugly, The Magnificent Seven, and Jurassic Park 2 and 3. The only movie I wanted to keep was G,B,U but that can be found for cheap everywhere. I got a Sharkport to download rosters for NCAA and I have $32 left.
