Question regarding future Region 2 "Superbit" titles

I was reading the DTS list of films that present/future releases of Region 2 discs from www.dvd-home.nl (click on R2 Database - "DTS-Titels") and the list includes Superbit DVD's of:

Bridge On the River Kwai
Das Boot
Charlie's Angels
Lawrence of Arabia
Men In Black

with release dates of 8/15/2002

One, can anyone confirm these are actually coming out and secondly, where (UK, France, Holland?)

They're all coming out in Holland from what I was told by an HTF member who lives there.

According to this site, those Superbits won't be released until 10/15. They also include The Bone Collector, a Universal title in R1.

Go to www.play.com and use "superbit" as DVD title
You will get the (future) titles available in the UK

Update:

Das Boot, Lawrence Of Arabia, and Bridge On The River Kwai Superbits are no longer on the schedule for R2-Holland. I will update my thread later. The remaining titles will be released October 14, 2002.

I am the editor of www.dvdpreview.nl and I originally posted the message for the new Superbitdvd's.

As Chad said the titles will be released on October 14 2002 and will have English dts and anamorphic widescreen.

As of then Godzilla , Men In Black , Charlie's Angels and The Bone Collector are region 02 Superbit exclisives.

I also asked Columbia Tristar if Spider-man will be released as a Superbit dvd and they told me that it will only be a matter of time when Spider-man comes to the Superbitline.
Just a little teaser for next year

Quint,

Nice to see you posting here.

Do you know if the Das Boot, Lawrence Of Arabia, and Bridge On The River Kwai Superbits are in fact cancelled, or are they simply postponed?

Great news on Spider-Man BTW... I knew Columbia wouldn't miss a chance to SB that one.

Those three titles are cancelled without possibillity of release.

Columbia Tristar is doing Superbit all the way with many new titles still to come beyond the October releases so stay tuned for more titles to be announced on the Superbitlabel.
