Super Nintendo Console

Whenever I try to play a SNES game there are vertical lines throughout the game. It doesn't matter which game I play.

Did this ever happen to anyone else before ?

Do they still sell SNES consoles anywhere ?

Are you using the RF out or the component out?

Funcoland has used ones for $40.
For $5 more you get a 1 year warranty.

I remember seeing new ones at Toys R Us a year or two ago for $49.99.

I should have picked one up.

Use component outputs and they'll go away.

When my NES did this when I was younger, you could just smack the side of it and they'd go away. It's worth a try.

Try moving to an S-Video out... the adaptor is the same for the N64, so you ought to still be able to find them. Makes a night and day difference.

I tried the N64 cable and it's the same.
It's not a bad reception problem.

I think the problem is with the console itself.

There are vertical lines in different parts of the game.
It's kind of hard to explain without seeing it.
For example, when a logo comes on when the game first starts
there are vertical lines only in the logo box and nowhere else.
Then when the game starts the lines are in different places throughout the game. They aren't consistent lines from top to bottom of screen. They change as the game changes.

Anyone have any bad experiences with Funcoland ?

I could try half.com too.

Any opinions either way ?

Buy a GBA? Not totally serious...but for my money, that's what I would do. Yeah, you can't play it on your TV, but you can take it with you wherever, and they are porting many, many SNES titles to the GBA. I love mine!

Just an idea, try cleaning out the console by blowing hard into the slot. I have had this happen to my nes, snes consoles before and it was just their time to die.... [sad face]
