Jeez.......Super Monkey Ball......

Well I just got my Gamecube in the mail on Tuesday, and decided to go out and rent a game. Ended up with SMB. Great game (although the way the camera works sometimes pisses me off), and I've beaten Easy mode with no lives lost and Advanced mode without using any continues. But my God......how can ANYONE beat the Expert mode? I mean, is it really possible? I can barely get through to the ninth stage, and with it getting increasingly harder for over 40 more stages, I just don't see how it's possible to beat it! Has anyone here beaten the game on Expert?

There's actually two (I think it's two) more modes opened up after beating expert mode.....

There's a avi you can download somewhere that shows someone beating all the expert levels, the bonus levels after that AND the Super-master levels, all without dieing.

If you got to Expert 9, you did better than me. I never got past Expert 7.

A truly evil game, on the advanced stage, IMHO.

Actually, once you get passed 7 on Expert, the worst is pretty much behind you. There are some hard ones after that, but lots of fairly easy ones too. That Number 7 is a nightmare.

I think I got to 30 something on Master. You just have to unlock unlimited continues, and then it's just a matter of patience.

Yes, stage 07 on Expert is Satan himself in videogame form. It doesn't even look that hard, too. I've beaten maybe three times total, and attempted at least a hundred times.
I love doing stage 08, though....it's so easy to cheat on.

By the way, how do you unlock unlimited continues?

It does indeed get better MOSTLY, but there are still a couple stages that are infurating. But if you have unlimited continues you can keep retrying!

I love this game's difficulty. There are times that I get enraged, but it's such fun when you actually finish a tough stage.

I beat Expert mode after almost 3 days straight trying. Unlimited continues is pretty much necessary(for me anyway ). I probably couldn't do it now, since I haven't played SMB in a week or so. You really need to keep playing that game to stay good at it.

C'mon, stage 7 might be one of the 5 hardest levels in Expert, but it's not that impossible. I get pissed if I die more than three or four times on it.

You unlock unlimited continues by simply collecting enough play points.

Sorry, I couldn't find the link anymore. I still have the video, though. 118 megs of pure monkey goodness.

I'll put it up on WinMX tonight, though... search for 9999pp.avi.

I just finished Expert mode.

I'd guess that it took 3 or 4 hours of total play time to finish it. There isn't a chance in hell that I'll ever be able play enough to unlock the Master Floors though.

Maybe I'm insane, but I didn't think Level 7 was that bad. It's challenging, but no more so than another 10 or so levels in Expert.
