*sigh* Amazon screws me again..
I got an email today telling me that they've adjusted the price of my LOTR:SE order, so of course now the STL and Promo GC are both gone. Check your orders, call 800-201-7575 to complain if they are missing.

For the past year, whenever they adjust a price or split an order any GC's or coupons I used were messed up......This story doesn't surprise me.
With the loss of Nextcard rewards and considering Amazon's higher prices compared to some other online stores, I will not be buying from them unless I can't get the DVD anywhere else, or by some odd chance they have a great bargain.
BTW: The new Super Saver shipping has also been affected more than once when they've adjusted pricing on an order.
These price adjustments are a real pain in the you know what to fix every time it happens. When you have to fix an order more than once and coupons and GC's are involved, Amazon begins to get quite confused. I've had at least three orders which took 3-4 phone calls and 15-20 minutes a call to fix each time. The CSR's are very nice, it's just annoying to have to go through this each time.

When I combine STL, free shipping, a coupon, and preorder discounts, I can get great deals at Amazon. But the pain-in-the-ass factor is very high.

I'm sure many others have too.

Yeah. Not only when an order is price adjusted or split that the coupon/promo would disappear, but when part of the order is shipped!
While it was nice that they shipped an in-stock DVD to me without me having to wait for the other two preorders (all under super saving shipping), they screwed up the $5 pomo, which disappeared and left the grand total at $5 positive (me owing). I shall see what happens when the preorders ship.

They actually done my order right. I placed one on July 30th, it shipped on July 31st from Kentucky, and I would have received it today by UPS but they had my PO box address so they are delivering it tomorrow.

well i just checked one of my orders and it was weird. they listed the correct total PAID BY VISA as 40.41 but underneath that where the grand total was listed it didn't include the promotional gc. however, i just called my credit card and they charged me the correct total. good that i got charged the correct total but interesting nonetheless.

I have learned that if I am going to have to change an order that has already been placed.....DON'T DO IT!!!!! If an order needs changing....I simply cancel it. As big as they are it is amazing that they are unable to fix this problem on their website.

Has anyone noticed that they have started putting the charges and totals of shipments back on their packing slips?
I just got a partial shipment with a book and noticed that the order charges are once again listed on the slip. Have they done this with DVDs as well, or are those orders still not showing the charges as they once did?

The latest on my end: every order with a promotion at all gets screwed up with "Amazon math." I don't even bother trying to change orders myself anymore (although they are one of the very few vendors online who I thought had a system good enough for it). Even entering a NON-PROMO GC will send a binary grenade into the order, deleting super saver shipping or nullifying a promo code. And forget Share the Love or the Gold Box!
And, even worse, lately, every GC I enter (promo or not) just refreshes the screen without actually crediting any funds. Then, I try inputting it again, and guess what--already redeemed! Not to mention my current -$20.00 gift certificate balance or the fact that every time I've tried to do something even so simple as changing a shipping address I get a server error.
Very frustrating. But I still give them my business because I believe in the site and their model. Also, their CSRs and the website itself are the best in the business. They've continually given me extra off orders as well as free 2 day shipping for my troubles.
The last CSR (order specialist) I spoke with told me they were doing a MASSIVE upgrade to their systems. I certainly hope so. It may explain for the current troubles, but it's still not fun!
