Whats better? Jet Grind Radio (DC) or Jet Set Radio Future (Xbox)

I guess this is kind of a hot topic with Jet Set Radio fans, which is better.

I personally played Jet Grind Radio on Dreamcast and didn't like it too much. I enjoyed it styles, but I couldn't get into it. Jet Set Radio Future, however, I have found to be much more fun, along as being faster.

Anyone have any opinions?

Overall though, these two games are ahead of their time, and because of poor sales, I fear we'll never see sequels to them!

Pick up JSRF for your Xbox as soon as you can!

Jet Set Radio Future is a semi-sequel/semi-remake..

The gameplay is a bit different, as JGR was a bit slower, and had cops come after you that would beat the hell out of you. It also had a motion that you had to make to spraypaint, whereas now, you just push one button.

Overall, JGR had more complex motions/gameplay, and JSRF has been sped up and made simplier in terms of gameplay.

Also, this game is now $39.99 at Best Buy if you are interested.

I picked up the last copy at my local best buy, as I havent seen it at stores for cheaper than yet, and its still $45 at most places used.

Easily JSRF. They got rid of all the things I disliked about JGR.

I love JGR, it is one of my favorite games ever. I just didn't have nearly as much fun with JSRF. They shouldn't have gotten rid of the spray paint controls. I still like them both but I enjoyed JGR much more.

I woulda liked JSRF more if they kept the roving cops. Taking out the stupid spray combos speeded up things enough that having to still avoid the cops woulda worked out just fine.

Over all I gota say JGR(1) was my fave. But I play more JSRF when I have the craving.

Break it down oh Brinly one...

JGR:

Beter music by far. "the most important thing about dance is the music" Rob Zombie, Cold, and the techno was smooth.

It was much more dificult.
Spray Combos, TIME LIMIT, and roaming cops that kick your shiat.
Took a hella long time to beat just because it was dificult. A good thing.

There may only be 2 big reasons why its better but those are two HUGE reasons. JGR was a "specialist" game that the average Joe Gamer couldn't really do well at. For those of us who pounced on it, it was like they took appart our brains and found the one concept that ROCKED SUPREEME and made a game out of it.

JSRF:

Faster.

HUGE ARSE LEVELS

Simplified gameplay.

Anoying remakes of the kick arse songs from the original. (Its almost an insult). Some of the newer songs ROCK, "Hello Alison (Isle 10)" for example is one of my fave songs period. But over all the music was a rougher, more anoying, less metal - more bubblegum version of the previous game.

Over all it makes for a damn good game, but it became much more MainStream and less of the supreme work of art that only the die hard vets of the gaming culture could love. A good thing in many ways, but when you comepare the two I just gota say JGR was better.

Multiplayer too BTW. A big plus but it gets old pretty fast. Especialy if the skill levels of the players is even slightly imbalanced.

There aren't roving cops. There's a certain group or two in every level and once you defeat them in the "cage match" you never see them again on that level.

Nothing like in JGR.
