would like suggestions on rec and speakers
Hi, I wrote several months ago for advice but wasn't able to go thru with my purchase. I am writing again now just in case there are newer models available now.
I can spend in the $1500 range. Can I get some advice from various members on what receiver and speakers they would use for the following system?
I have a 56" HDTV Projection Zenith tv with a JVC XV-Sa75 (Digitial Direct Progressive Scan) dvd player.
BTW, I have a family room that is approx. 20 x 15.
Thanks alot!!

I would recommend spending about 1/3 on the receiver and 2/3 on the speakers.
Receivers to consider:
Onkyo SR-600 (new model)
Denon 2802
Outlaw Audio 1050
For speakers you should really go listen to some at a nice small local A/V shop. Brands I recommend include PSB, Paradigm, and B&W. For $1000 you will probably be looking for 4 bookshelf speakers (fronts and rears), 1 good sized center channel, and a powered sub. Matching brands is recommended, except feel free to buy any sub you like.
