Hi im about to buy a 24 inch apex tv from circuit city for a cheap 159.99 but the thing is the sound is mono so i was wondering if anyone had info on how to make all the sound stereo such as a dvd player, game system, digital cable television. I have something about getting a reciever but can anyone elaborate thanks!

If the TV is mono, you'll never be able to make the TV stereo, it's not built to be stereo. For other sources like game system, DVD, digital cable box, etc. you would need to buy a receiver (preferably a Dolby Digital 5.1/DTS 5.1 receiver) and all the assorted speakrs. Then, instead of running the sound for all these through the TV, you run the sound through the receiver and you've got stereo, surround, whatever the source is.

Anyone into audio or home theater already does this regardless of whether or not their TV is stereo or not. Stereo from a TV is barely a step up from mono; stereo from a home theater is lightyears beyond stereo from a TV.

Ditch the mono TV purchase and get a stereo one.

Oh, and instead of making posts like "This will be moved soon," maybe you could also report the thread next time as being in the wrong forum. Thanks. :)

...don't know whether this is true of ALL dvd players, but the two I own both have headphone OUT - connect a (preferably good) headphone, or even an el cheapo pair of ear buds and ... voilą! ... stereo sound (not 'Surround, mind you, and certainly not DD 5.1, but definitely not mono either!...)...
