Stereo sound from a mono tv?

Hi im about to buy a 24 inch apex tv from circuit city for a cheap 159.99 but the thing is the sound is mono so i was wondering if anyone had info on how to make all the sound stereo such as a dvd player, game system, digital cable television. I have something about getting a reciever but can anyone elaborate thanks!

From DVD player, send the sound straight to home theater system and just send the picture to your TV. Should work for all your other external sources too. If the TV decodes the sound, it will be mono, nothing you can do about it. (like receiving from an antenna). I'm bnot sure about your digital cable box. Does it have separate sound outputs, or does it send composite video to TV?

Get two and put them on either side. :)
