Is Amazon going with someone else now that Nextbank is gone?

Anyone want to tell me why I keep returning even though I've been banned?

I think it's worth everyone writing to Amazon (specifically the ' Jeff Bezos' correspondence address) to suggest this - even if the cut the percentages a little, it would still be a good thing.

Jammy...while I am in the same camp as you regarding the 50 or so different threads regarding NextCard's closure I think MarcusAurelius3 brings up a good point.

All the other threads touch on the fact that Amazon is going to honor existing points not the question raised here regarding whether Amazon teams up with a new bank/CC company to continue the program with someone else (MBNA, Citi, First USA, etc.) That would be great!! We will have to wait and see I guess...

Since Next/Amazon stopped taking new apps awhile back. I assume that Amazon is no longer interested in co-branding with an awards credit card.

Judging by Amazon's willingness to honor our points, I expect them to strike a deal with another company. Geez, they're not going to stand for a buy.com credit card and no Amazon one are they?

Oddly, I'm a returning banned member. I just can't grow up and accept that my behavior is unacceptable here.

I received an email from Amazon stating that they WILL honor past earned points from the NextCard. They also stated that they will be offering another Visa card with rewards in the near future. I was about ready to apply for a buy.com card, but I think I will now wait and see what amazon.com offer in the way of a new credit card.

The e-mail referred to above:

Greetings from Amazon.com,

As you may have learned, NextCard has closed credit card accounts for
many of its customers, including cardholders who may have accrued
Amazon.com Rewards credits. Rest assured that Amazon.com has every
intention of honoring Rewards points you have accrued with your
Amazon.com NextCard Visa card.

We will announce a redemption program for outstanding Rewards points
in the coming weeks.

You should also know that we are already working with a market leader
in credit card services to establish and offer a new Amazon.com
co-branded Visa card providing customer rewards and additional
benefits. We will notify you as soon as this new card is available.

At this time, we'd also like to remind you to update your credit card
information in your Amazon.com account profile and on any open
orders. You can do this by visiting the Your Account page

If you have any further questions regarding your NextCard account,
please call NextCard directly at 1-888-974-2265 or send an e-mail to
[email protected].

Thanks for your understanding, and thanks for shopping at Amazon.com.

In late September we are announcing our new credit card partnership
with a major financial institution. Similar to the NextCard, the new
card includes a points program redeemable for rewards on Amazon.com,
as well as other valuable benefits. As a NextCard cardholder, you will
receive a special invitation to apply for our new Amazon.com card as
soon as it is available. At that time, we hope you will apply for the
new card in order to continue receiving rewards for shopping at Amazon.com.
got an email with my GC for my left over points today
