I had stopped gaming when Atari did this rerelease of the 2600 in the mid 80's and it got me back into gaming again. $50 for the Atari and about $5 for the games at Kay Bee Toys. I still had games from my original 2600 (It was long deceased) from about 4-5 years before and I ended up with about 30 or 40 before I bought the NES and moved on. I still fondly remember my 2600 and I still hate those cheap ass joysticks.

Cool I've never seen that commercial before (it was before my time) but it was pretty funny!
I like how they say "Yessirrrreeeeee!!" haha! Love these old school commercials, reminds me of that zelda one where the guy says "Get some!" Unfortunately I never owned an "A-Ta-Ri."

Joysticks
You guys must have gotten some bad sticks.
I beat the hell out of my 2600 joysticks and they just kept on going. Personally, I would rather have one of those joysticks over a gamepad any day of the week.
I too have a 2600 hooked up to my TV, along with a Jaguar, NES, PS2, and Odyessey 2 (which has died...argh....it used to work...gotta dig out the multi-meter...)

I remember that commercial pissing me off cuz I had the old wood-grain 2600 and paid alot for the games and then the prices plummet, but by then I was into other things.
