Calibration test(tv monitor)

I just purchased a 36in sony wega. The dvds look great, although
night scenes(color) are not black enough. I tried turning black level down . but I'm not getting a good balance. Is it worth getting the dvd clibration test? How does it actually work?

Thanks,
jg

AVIA is probably your best choice for DVD based calibration. Video Essentials will work as well, but probably not quite as well. I have VE.
