I've ordered from here before and had no problems at all. I'm hoping to to have the same experience again.

And thats a culprit of why we have a $59.99 retail price for a majority of our new games.

Believe me, I buy more than my fair share of video games, DVDs, and CDs. I'm not gonna feel guilty if I swipe a few........

Don't you think that PS2, Xbox, etc games being close to $70 is a bigger culprit?

Are there console games this expensive???? I've never seen a current generation console game over $50 .... older ones, sure, but not the Cube, XBox, or PS2.

With the exception of games that come with special controllers or are multiple disc box sets (which I have only seen on PS1 so far). No console game sells over $49.99. And how do you feel console games are bigger culprit? I'm not atatcking you, I just would like more explanation of how you arrived to your conclusion. I don't see PS2, XBox, or GC games available for download on Kazaa like PC games.

Just because they're not on Kazaa doesn't mean they're not all over the net; they certainly are and they're just as easy to find as PC games. And you certainly don't need to deal with spyware or the WWW to find them.
From '94 until maybe '99, PC games could be had retail (ok, so you'd have to walk to both stores in the mall) for $30-$40 and console games were going for $60-70 (N64, for instance).
Now we've seen big swings in prices ($55 for RTCW to $30 for Rally Trophy at the same store- both games are brilliant at what they are) but most 'wow, I need that game' titles are over $40.
What I find interesting is that PC game prices have risen to match consoles while console games have dropped. My guess is that the PC publishers realized that people will pay $50 for a PC game, since that's what they're paying for console games.
I obviously don't have concrete evidence, I'd think the truth lies somewhere in between.

I always thought the reason older console games were expensive was due to the cost of the cartridge. Now that everything is on disc, that is why they have been lowered. Another reason why console games cost so much is because like $10 of every game goes straight to the console maker. I don't know why CPU games cost this much.

Ordered on the 2nd and got it Saturday the 6th. Nicely packaged USPS. No problems.
I believe coupon code "FATWALLET" will give you an additional $1.50 off, which should put the price at $48 shipped.

I'm guessing it's development costs, a lot of new games have huge staff and teams that work on the game, not just programmers but also voice actors, composers, orchestra's, CG artists, testors, utility bills, etc., the costs add up.
I'm gonna wait it out a bit because in the past usually with PC games the price drops in a few weeks....hopefully.
