If there is one game that I'd purchase a GC for.. this might be it. And hell, with the cheap price tag on GCs, I just might pick one up before too long.

I think the graphics look pretty good. Remember not too long ago when everyone was saying it looked like crap? Graphics don't mean a damn thing anyway when a game's as fun as this one looks. I can't wait!

Kellehair, do you by chance work for Nintendo? Just, you know, curious.

I can't wait to play this game. August can't get here fast enough. To tide myself over I've been playing Mario 64 on emulator (1024 high res!) and I'm dying for the new installment in the series.

Mario 64 is, in my opinion, the overall best game of all time. It is everything that makes videogames what they are...it truly is the most fun and innovative (at the time) game ever.

This is the first true sequel to Mario 64 and I'm pretty excited, like back in '96. Hope it comes out on time and delivers.

Why would you say that? Because I'm excited for the sequel to arguably the best game ever made?

Mario 64, while innovative was not as cool as Super Mario World when it came out.

Oh and yes I am buying a Gamecube now... Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2, Eternal Darkness, Mario Sunshine.... and hopefully someday Perfect Dark.

I agree, the graphics do look good! Although I don't agree with you saying "graphics don't mean a damn thing when a game's as fun as this one looks". Graphics are especially important with this title because it is in full 3D. Graphics have more to do then just how it looks, but also how it runs. Imagine playing this with a very slow frame rate, almost no detail, and difficult controls because you don't know what the hells going on. Sucks the fun right out of it eh? .

By today's standards Mario 64 looks like ****. By most accounts it's still one of the best games ever though.

Frame rate issues are more of a programming flaw than a graphics flaw in a way.

Graphics flaws people complain about are usually bland textures, poor character models etc.

Anyway, it was the "bland" textures people have been complaining about in Mario Sunshine, not frame rate issues so that's irrelevant for this discussion.

"Bland" textures don't make a game any less fun to play, and in my opinion the game looks very good.

Maybe it's because it is late, but those commercials cracked me up.

Anyone know a way to find out if the Japanese release will have an English language option (a la SSB:M)? The extra $5-10 to play the game a month early (or maybe more given the big N's release date issues), also I have plenty of time now, but after the end of August I will be much busier.

I love that phrase. I hope NOA doesn't change it when the game hits North America.
