Annoying Problem - Please help
I have a problem when I watch DVDs but it only seems to be noticable when I watch a DVD in widescreen and even then it does not seem to happen every time.
The problem is a light grey or white vertical band that moves through the screen as the DVD is playing. It scrolls from right to left on the screen. I have a brand new 36 inch Wega and a Panasonic RV-31 DVD player that is hooked up via component cables. I never notice this at any other time. I would appreciate any help that someone can give. Thanks.

Try hooking the player up via the s-video and/or composite connections and see if the problem is still there. If not, try using new cables for the component connection and see if that helps. If not, then it might be a problem with either your component input on the TV, or the component output on the player.
Do you have any other device that outputs a component signal? I'd try hooking that up to the TV too and see if you still get the bar. If not, then it's not the TV, but the player.
Or, if you can connect the player to another component capable TV, see if the bar is on that TV. If not, then, again, it's probably your TV. If it is, then it's probably your player.
Hope that helps.
Good luck.
