any views on Anchor Bay's C.H.U.D. dvd?
I read that C.H.U.D. is presented by Anchor Bay for the first-time ever in a restored, uncut edition of the film. I wasn't a big fan of the theatrical release which ran around 88 minutes. Any input?

...may I suggest you wait until this movie comes out in a two-pack, together with its sequel...

absolutely not. it starred bud the chud. it was a mix of a teen summer movie minus the sex and humor. it really was trying to be a slapstick comdey. as much as i hate this movie, it does con't contain my favorite quote, but i can't even remeber it well enough to post it
anyway i love C.H.U.D. i really think it is a great movie, premise, acting, some special effects.

I watched my copy a few nights ago and was pleasantly surprised of how good the C.H.U.D. transfer is. This is a guilty pleasure worth owning. I'm glad that I added this one to my collection.

C.H.U.D. is a favorite cult classic of mine. The main theme is moody and awesome. I had rented it before buying it one day and the video I rented was different than the DVD. On the video tape it ends with two cops, one is John Goodman, and they are attacked by the C.H.U.D.
On the DVD this scene is in the middle of the movie.

C.H.U.D.s Of The World... Unite!
C.H.U.D. is AWESOME! C.H.U.D. 2 - "Bud The Chud" blows monkey-chunks; avoid it at all costs.
I won't even indirectly tarnish C.H.U.D.'s reputation by calling it a "guilty pleasure". For it's budget and genre, C.H.U.D. is a very well-made film. It's not all that scary, but the dramatic moments are decently written and enhanced by a very talented cast. Though this is no comedy, there are many genuinely funny moments peppered throught as well. Add to this the fact that Anchor Bay's dvd is the MOST complete version of C.H.U.D. in existence (the full pre-censored cut is unfortunately lost, but much of the footage was recovered for this edition), a side-splittingly hilarious cast commentary track, and a terrific hidden easter egg that contains a revealing nude shower scene, and you've got a must-have dvd for any horror fan.
Two GIGANTIC thumb's up for C.H.U.D.!
BTW - The pinnacle of modern social commentary, Fox's The Simpsons, has dropped references to C.H.U.D. on at least two different occasions. In one episode, Homer is actually pursued through the sewers by some animated C.H.U.D.s!
