what do you mean when you say you went to a pawn shop?

all this talk of people getting good deals at pawn shops has me curious. my biggest question is, do you mean real pawn shops or just used cd/dvd type places? I've been to many used cd type places and they never seem to have any bargains. Are you saying I should try checking out real pawn shop places like down in the ghetto where they sell guns and stolen jewelry? Those places scare me, but if they have deals...

Good thing the P.C. Police aren't reading this....

And yes, I'm sure the people posting mean pawn shops, or they would have said"used Cd stores" or whatever.

extremely off topic...

Copenhagen,

I know someone who lives in Danville, on Park Hill Road if I'm not mistaken. I wonder if you live near them. No clue on how big Danville really is, although I've been there twice.

Pawn shops -- as in the same place you can get used TVs, used guitars, used construction equipment, used dvds, and used jewelry all in one store.

Do your research beforehand. If you don't already know, figure out what the top 25-50 most valuable dvds are on eBay (Salo CC, 400 Blows CC, etc.) and then hit up your pawn shops. You never know if you might be passing over a hidden gem.

I went to one of the smaller pawn shops around here a couple days ago and they have a good amount of unopened DVDs. The only dvds they had that I was interested in were M:I and JP/JP:TLW collection. I'm going to go and check some of the larger stores Monday to see if they have any hidden gems.

Although I don't think the pawn shops here are in the ghetto, they do tend to be in poorer parts of town. I assume this is because people that have money don't pawn as often. I'd also assume there are more thiefs in poorer areas lol. I've gotten my best deals at pawn shops. Have no fear on going to them as most are not open at night. You know they are armed employees too and often there is hightened security. As someone mentioned above make a list of movies you want that have high msrp's or are oop, getting one for $7-$12 is good deal.
