Howdy,

I'm thinking about picking up a HDTV and a progressive scan player. My question is this: my receiver (Pioneer VSX-D710S) can do component video switching. Would it be possible to run my cables from a progressive scan player, into the receiver, and then into the TV and still get a progressive scan picture?

Thanks.

Yes. But you should check on the specs of the receiver's component switcher and compare with your progressive player's output. Some switchers do not handle a high enough bandwidth to do a good job.

true, but i believe those issues occur with HDTV signals (1080i/720p) that require greater bandwidth...not 480p signals associated with dvds.
