Skies of Arcadia: For the love of god, I can't find the Gates of Rixis

I've had to hunt for things in this game, but this is just ridiculous. I've spent the better part of my evening looking for this damn Rixis in northeast Ixa'taka. I've found the Golden Statue and the bird thing. I know they supposedly triangulate the position of this place.

I think the problem lies in the fact that there are a bunch of pillars in-between those places and Rixis. Oh, and how can I forget to mention fighting a random battle every 10 seconds?! I've gone up 5 levels looking for this thing (20->25)! Grr...

Can someone just break it down for me and tell me exactly where it is? I've looked at walkthroughs and they're completely unhelpful. I must have followed the direction the bird and statue are pointing a zillion times. In fact, I am having serious doubts this game contains a location called Rixis, and think that it is all a big plot to make me lose my mind.

I had some trouble with that as well. Try landing on all the little floating Islands in that area. I think that's what I did to find it (though it's been a while...).

Jeez! Nevermind! I guess I was required to go back and talk to Isapa about where it was, even though it was pretty evident from the pointing figure and the bird. It really didn't exist until I did that. An entire night down the tubes. Oh well, I have some experience to show for it.
