The Tragically Hip - In Violet Light
Well, the new Hip album came out yesterday, IN VIOLET LIGHT and i was wondering what anyone else thinks of it. I think it's a really great record. It has a classic Hip feel, with some great slow numbers and some very lyrical rockers. I love the artwork on the disc and think it's a great package. Got my THC card, but looks like i didn't win tickets to their exclusive show in Toronto tonight...damn... anyhow, back to the album, i really really like it... my fave songs right now are:
'Use It Up'
'It's A Good Life If You Don't Weaken'
Silver Jet
All Tore Up
The Dire Wolf
So,what do you think? Good? Bad? Mediocre?
MATT
The Hip rule.

I didn't really like the first song(only listened twice), but I think the album is pretty damn good. Their music really grows on me, so I wouldn't be surprised if I end up liking the whole thing.
I agree with your list. My favorite song is Silver Jet. I like their slower stuff (It's a good life...), but that tune rocks. I'm in for the Buffalo drawing, so we'll have to wait and see.

I haven't picked it up yet, but definatly will be getting it soon...
with Music@work, at first I didn;t care for it too much, but upon repeated listens I now really dig it. I imagine this one will be the same, I checked out the clips on their web site, and was indifferent...
I can't wait to see them at the club here in August. Hopefully they play Springtime in Vienna, and Chagrin Falls..... goddam, those are some good songs.
