Anyone listen to Norah Jones yet?

Her first two songs are awesome. "Don't know why" and "Comae away with me" are getting a little airplay on MTV2. I saw her in Dallas a few years back. Anyone have her CD yet?

Obligatory pic:

I've been seeing her face everywhere for a while. Listened to a little bit of the record the other night and it's definitely a mood record.

Very slow.....piano......whispy..

Enjoyable but takes some warming up to.

She opened for John Mayer this spring.

I like the album a lot, but in small doses only because there is not a lot of variation in tempo or style. Her voice is quite interesting, very much like a Billie Holliday. I figured that, to get that kind of sound at the age of 22, she must have been smoking three packs of unfiltered since the age of, oh, two.

She's playing here (Rochester) tomorrow night at our Jazz Festival, but they booked her many months ago into a room that only holds about 200. Someone should have moved it to a much larger venue after the album broke.

Yes, I have her cd Come Away with Me, and I love it. She has a beautiful voice and is a great jazz pianist. She is all the rage in the jazz world these days, from what I understand.

Also, you must listen to "The Long Day is Over" by her. Simply a beautiful song and she treats it well.

I like her cd pretty well. There are a few songs that I could do without, and I can't listen to it daily. But, yeah, she is all the rage all over. I've been looking for a couple weeks and she constantly is in the top 10 sellers for music on Amazon. Also, she's got her face all over the place now. I think she's probably selling quite a few albums.

Her disc is definitely not a party CD, but it's perfect if you want to wind down or on a lazy day [or nite].

I'm still trying to find her first disc "First Sessions". Yet another example of me saying "ahhh, i'll get it later" and then getting caught out.

I think it is quite perfect for an evening with two.

TDD, no problem. It's my favorite song on her new cd. I think you put it just right when you said that her voice is "intoxicating." Then, Bill Frisell's guitar playing on this track isn't half bad, either.

Oh, one more thing, is that I wish she wrote more the lyrics. I really like the songs she writes and wish I could hear a few more of them. They are all talented lyricists, but her songs have something that I like about them a little more. Maybe it's that, in a good way, they feel less polished lyrically than the other songs.

She also did a crackerjack job on the cover of Hank Williams.
