Games that make you go...

..damn I'm glad I bought this system!

I spent a lot of time in the Nintendo booth this year at E3, and after playing Mario Sunshine I was very pleased that I bought a Gamecube, my feelings were solidified when I got to play Zelda, and Metriod Prime. What about the rest of you? Remember it doesnt have to be a new game, it can be old, or heck not even out yet (meaning a game your looking forward to..come on let's hear it

Super Mario 64 for N64. In a lapse of stupidity I almost bought a PSX over an N64. After seeing some clips of Mario 64 on the news though I turned around and preordered an N64. Disaster averted. Mario 64 = best game ever made...so far. I can't wait for Sunshine!

PS1; Metal Gear Solid, Tenchu, Ape Escape,
PS2; I've only owned the system for about 2 weeks so I haven't played more than 2 games for it. But Knockout Kings 2002 was outstanding. Metal Gear Solid; Sons of Liberty was exceptional too

I do not agree that Super Mario 64 is the best game ever (third after the original Zelda and Zelda OoT), but I do agree that it is probably the funnest game I've ever played. I love that I can pick up the game and have a blast at any time, without worrying about necessarily completing any tasks or anything like that. I just enjoy running, swimming, jumping, wall kicking, flipping, and exploring around the different areas-- so much so that I go over already completed tasks, many times over. The graphics are just beautiful too... To be the first 3D platformer ever, I still think it works better than all the others after it. I can see myself playing this game a decade from now and still having tons of fun with it. I hope Mario Sunshine provides the same level of enjoyment...

My answer to the original question though is any Nintendo based Zelda game (had to specify to avoid CDI jokes).

Dreamcast - Soul Calibur 2. Too many hours were spent on this thing.
Xbox - Halo. Picked this up yesterday and my brother and I played it for about 8 hours.

Gamecube
Super Monkey Ball
Super Monkey Ball 2

I too spent much time in the nintendo area at e3. I was quite pleased that I had bought my gamecube. Even though compared to the other consoles of the house the stack of games is smaller it still gets the most use.

PS2
GTA 3

This game actually had me turn the ps2 on. I've been hooked ever since.

Dreamcast
NFL 2K series
Soul Calibur

The little biege box was king of football games. All my friends were playing madden on their playstations and pcs and I pulled out NFL 2K everybody was in awe. The best. Soul Calibur had me playing for 6 days straight. (2 days was snowed in can't go to work, the weekend then a monday holiday. joy)My soul still burns.... (cheez)

Saturn
Nights

The main reason why the saturn is still hooked to the TV. Love it.

Genesis
Herzog Zwei

If you have to ask, you'll never know ;-)

SNES
Super Mario World

My fav mario series. It was longer, the graphics were kickass(for the time you know) and was pure fun.

Nes
Final Fantasy
Legend of Zelda
Contra

There are probably more Nes games but these were my favorites. FF kept me playing for a month (which is quite a while for me) Zelda, I loved the music and the story became obsessed. Contra was great with my friends, enter cheat code and playing for the afternoon.

Ah, memories....

Atari VCS-Demon Attack/Pitfall
Colecovision-Zaxxon
Sega Master System-Phantasy Star
Genesis-Toe Jam and Earl/Streets of Rage
Saturn-Panzer Dragoon series
Dreamcast-Soul Calibur
Game Boy Advance-Mario Advance games/Upcoming Phantasy Star collection
Xbox-Halo
PC-Half-Life

Sega Saturn:

NiGHTS (was actually going to get a N64, actually had bought stock in SGI I was so pumped for N64, but ran into a demo booth for NiGHTS at Hades Haunted House in Villa Park, and changed my mind instantly! NiGHTS instantly became the must have game for me and it is still my favorite game of all time!)

Sonic Jam

Burning Rangres

Dreamcast:
Sonic Adventure 1 and 2
Soul Calibur
NFL 2k and 2k1 (played these TONS!!)

32x:
Virtua Fighter! Played this tons
Did enjoy Knuckles Chaotix and T-Mek though

Neo Geo Pocket:
Sonic Pocket Adventure! Great game!

GBA:
Sonic Advance
Super Mario Advance 1

Xbox:
HALO !!! One of the best game experiences ever for me.
DOA 3

Genesis:
Sonic's
Vectorman 1 and 2 (Why no Vectorman 3 ever?!)

SegaCD:
Sonic CD
Eternal Champions

Virtual Boy:
none, they all pretty much suck but not bad enough that you want to get rid of it since it looks so cool.

Overall, best system in my books ever was Dreamcast, still.. Probably be a while before a system can really be better than Dreamcast in my book.

There is no mistaking it, Yuji Naka is a Sega fan through and through (if you couldn't already tell that from his name). The only systems that he lists that aren't made by Sega, he lists Sega games for or the system is going to get a ton of Sega exclusives. I know a lot of diehard Sega fans like that, and I don't blame them. Sega has really put out a lot of great stuff over the years. If you don't have a Master System, I strongly recommend finding one...
