Has anyone used a Sharkport for the PS2?

It allows you to transfer saved games and gameshark codes from your PC to the PS2. this way you can use the PC hard drive as a big memory card.

Since it is only $29.99 it seems like a great idea. You could reduce the need for memory cards by offloading any saved game files to the pc. you could then use cdrw's to bring saved games to a friend who also had this device since you could upload the files that way. reburn onto the cdrw changes to bring home.

I have to admit to being a bit intrigued with the possible uses not even thought of down the line.

I know the XBox has a hard drive so I hope to not discuss that here. I just want some feedback on this gameport device

I have it and have been using it with no problems. There have been a number of people complaining that it does not work for them, but I haven't run into any problems with it. There is a small group of games where it does not work, but the list is pretty small. Just make sure you are using the latest software.

It all depends on which version PS2 you have. I had a PS2 from launch and it worked fine. I broke it by accident so I bought a new one about 6 months ago and it doesn't work. If you have a compatible version... it is definitly a cool item to have.

I've had no problems with mine. NCAA 2002 is MUCH better with all the players' names.
