No British make Billboard charts for 1st time
I saw on the news that for the 1st time since 1962, no British artist made the Billboard charts.
I blame MTV for this!
All they show is this Hip-Hop sample crap instead of original-euro music.

This doesn't surprise me, all that gets played on the radio is the same American bull$hit bands over and over again. Thank goodness for the internet where I can get my fill of good music by listening to BBC radio.

I don't see why this is a bad thing. I'm sure that this isn't the end of British music on the charts. Aren't the Spice Girls supposed to get back together?

I stopped caring what made the Billboard charts long ago. Looking at the new Rolling Stone (with Natalie Portman on the cover), I don't own a single disc in the top 40. Plus, I'm guessing that the only disc I own in the charts at all right now is Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (one of the best of the year, by the way). Popular music, by and large, is terrible nowadays. But, I don't mind. I like seeking out obscure music. Plus, as long as the bands I like sell enough records to make another record, I don't care how popular they get. Let's face it, Phish, the Old 97's, Wilco, the eels, the Blues Explosion, etc., etc. are never going to be superstars...and that's who I listen to.

The reason there are no British songs on it is cause 90% of British songs released in the last 6 months have been cover tunes that shamed the original song. And that really pees everyone off.
Oh wait, RnB/rap is doing the same thing..
scratch my comment then.

Coldplay and Oasis also both have albums due out during the summer, so that should put British music back into the charts somewhat.

And, curiously, a re-release/remix of the late Mr Presley's "A Little Less Conversatuion" and friends is Number One in the UK!
