Lola Rennt, dubtitles or subtitles?

Does anyone happen to know if ”Lola Rennt” R2 DVD has dubtitles or subtitles? Meaning, are the subtitles based on the original German audio or the English dub. Other than English subtitles migh also be necessary to test since who know which version the finnish or swedish or whatever transalator has been watching.

Well, AFAIK the German versions have only German subtitles and only German audio tracks.

I do not believe the subtitles are based on the English dub, as the movie appeared in theaters subbed before a dubbed DVD version was available.

The movie is not dubtitled. I compared the subs to the dub briefly to see how they coresponded when I first got the DVD and they definitely didn't match.

sorry for bumping a 4 year thread, but how are the subtitles for the region 2 version? i know that the subs for the region 1 dvd are really bad and the opening 5 minutes is out of sync, and many little phrases are not shown.

the main thing about the region 1 version (at least the version i rented) is that the first 5 or 6 minutes of the movie, the subs are way out of sync and alot of the little phrases don't get subtitled

I don't remember the subs being out of sync, but I don't speak German.

Might also be worth seeing if the DVD subtitles and the Blu-Ray subtitles are the same.

its the title cards are off sync by like 10 seconds or so, and the dialog during that opening sequence as well.
