AAARRRRGGGHHH! Bichunmoo is Pan&Scam!

So I wasn't paying attention when I placed my order from DDD on Bichunmoo, and I didn't realize that it was a FULLFRAME disc, and I just popped it in and I'm soooooooooo pissed at myself...

So does anyone own the Region 3 Widescreen version? How is it? I'm gonna have to ebay the fullscreen and try and pick up the region 3 2-disc...

Still though, What a friggin movie. Despite the fact that I'm disappointed at the crammed looking fullscreen...

roseart...I can't thank you enough for the info. I really appreciate it. It's good to have someone be nice to me once in a while, as things have been kinda rough for me lately (not on this board, but in like real life). So I really really appreciate it.

Dang! That's a lot of reasons for me to break down and get a malata! (that darn PAL thing is curbing me until I get one...) Hopefully, we'll hear good things about the new one soon.

Cheers,
Gabe

the R3 special edition is quite nice, great extras on the bonus disc, with one (slight?) disappointment. good thing we're seeing decent releases of things like shiri, so I won't do things like this anymore:

step 1. buy HK release knowing is 4:3, find out that it's cut. ("insult to injury"!)
step 2. buy R3 release, find out that it's also missing the same scenes.

(anyone know if the HKL version will have the same edits, or...?)

cheers

I had the full frame DVD from DeltaMac (I think it was them) and I didn't think it was all that bad. I thought the transfer and sound were great. I didn't notice it being cut, but that's the only version I had seen. The disc is the same exact thing as the Tai Seng release. I sold it and bought the 2-disc version and have yet to watch it.

i have the deltamac version...its ok, the pan and scan doesn't bother you as much as some of them do. The DTS track is solid.

As far as the movie goes, it falls in the same category as versus. Great the first time...but doens't hold up to repeat viewings. Second time viewing both of these movies I found them to be boring.

cut to shreds undoubtedly. there is no way they'll (the bbfc) pass it uncut, especially during the rape/torture/ichi scene...

Are there a few subs missing on the Delta disc, or is it just me? There were 2 times where I was like "what the hell did I just miss?" because there were no subs for the dialogue...
