from http://www.queenonline.com:

"This amazing 10th Anniversary edition 2 DVD set features the second half of this historic and moving show which has been re-mastered in 5.1 DTS Surround Sound and re-colour graded and converted to 16:9.Bonus features include rehearsal footage, a documentary on the show, song select, Freddie video inserts, Mercury Phoenix Trust and Queen Online sections and a fan photo section. The fan photos were kindly provided by many of those who attended the day, all of whom receive a credit on the DVD. "

Just the second half???

To quote Queen -- "I Want It All".

I imagine it's a licensing issue... remember, royalties are paid to the songwriters, not necessarily the performer... so since the 2nd half was all Queen, they're in the clear.

If they included the first half where bands sang their own songs, they'd be owed some $$$

I dunno if this will actually be released in America....which is kinda why I'm telling you guys about the NTSC region free disc.

and I'm glad it's the Queen half of the show. Other than Metallica, the first half has nothing but has-beens (apologies to the fans of those particular bands) which I fast forwarded past on my VHS copy all the time.

Well that would be okay if they really were all queen songs, but they aren't. Heroes and All The Young Dudes aren't Queen songs. They were written by David Bowie...one performed by him originally, the other written by Bowie to be performed by Mott the Hoople. Bowie later sang the song as well.

I believe this is just what was broadcast of the event originally, as I have a VHS of it, and it's got all those same songs. The DVD has the same footage as was broadcast.

I saw the boadcast on MTV and taped it too... it had a LOT more, incl 3 from Metallica, 3 from Def Leppard, 2 from Spinal Tap (!), 3 from Guns N Roses, and a couple from Extreme, among others.
