pretty hot deal at blockbuster for games

at blockbuster you can buy a game rental card, 30 days, up to 2 games at a time, and no late fees for $20... Its great because all the systems dropped in price, and will give you a chance to play the games on your new console. enjoy

30 days for 2 games for 20 dollars isn't bad. Especially since it is physically impossible for me to return a movie or game on time.

well you can rent 2 games/day, but you can only have 2 games out at a time, so you could try out 60 games in a month if you wanted to

Thanks for the heads up. I went to blockbusters site and read up on it.

I have a couple of games out that i want to play at length, but not buy... So i bought the pass and got THPS3 and FFX

If i get sick of those i'll return them and get Jedi starfighter and DMC.

Blockbuster's deal tend to lean towards the "not actually deals" end of the spectrum, but this one is hot.

I'm guessing I'll take a two week stint at finishing Halo and sample the rest of the games X-Box has to offer.

I just wanted to give this thread a ^BUMP^

I spoke with a clerk at my BBV, and she said the deal is going to continue throughout the summer.

Also, If you're a blockbuster rewards member, these game Checkouts count as a PAID rental... So everytime you bring in a game, you get a free "favorites" and after 5 game checkouts you get a free New Release rental.

This sweetens the deal even more.

I thought this was a sweet deal. I have been able to play all the GameCube games before buying them and, I didn't have to waste any money on that Pikmin game. My girlfriend really wanted it so I got it with the Freedom Pass and after a week she is bored with it. Saved $50 on that one!

I don't get it, this is $29.99 at my local Blockbuster. Anyone else?

It is 19.99 where I work. It is a really good deal. Even if you know you won't trade out much it will work out since you can keep the games until the pass runs out.

it's 19.99 where i live. i just got it last night. the only thing i'm worried about is their lack of selection with xbox and gamecube games...plus it doesn't seem like they've gotten anything new recently.

19.99 for me. 19.99 on the website too. You might want to double check, 29.99 sounds like a mistake.

They had pre-printed packaged cards out on a rack and it said $29.99 clear as day.. Maybe because they are a franchise store.

How much are most people's normal game rentals?

Got it last night along with using the 3$ coupon on it for the Rewards Membership.

Looking to rent games often to rack up some free rentals, are they good for the month only or for how long?

Rented 007:CrapGame for Xbox and Blood Wake. Played 007 for about 25 minutes in 1 player mode and had a decent time, tried the multiplayer and realized it was crap to Halo. Blood Wake was alright, some phenominal water effects, but it is also going back today. Hoping those bastards that have Hunter out bring it back soon.

To answer your question... Normal game rentals at my store are 5.99 for 5 days (a complete ripoff in my opinion)

So if I use this and rent 2 games a day, I could theoretically get 12 free DVD new release rentals? How long are those good for?

Good for 30 days. 2 games at a time. I'm thinking of doing it again (in combo with a rewards membership) just to catch up on some new releases (and get to play some PS2 one-nighter's at the same time)

You can only get 2 new release rentals a month with the rewards program. But if you have a lot of older dvds from the catalog sections that you want to see, but not pay for you could rack up. Assuming you have the blue reqards package and you exchange both games Monday through Wednesday when you get one free rental for each paid rental (which the gamepass counts as) you could get 30 of these movies for free and the 2 new releases, 4 if you purchased your pass in the middle of the month.
